Windows Os Keyboard
One of the best things these days is being able to do your computing from wherever you like, even when it is inside the house. You do not want heavy devices and wires rooting you to the spot, because mobility is what this age is all about.
Attachable wireless keyboards are getting big these days, with every major manufacturer bringing out their own take on what people need at the time. The common element is that these use Bluetooth to connect to the controlled computing device, which is why there are now wires to bother with.
That is the main reason you will love the foldable keyboard from Microsoft. They have designed this to work with Android and iOS devices, and it contains a foldable structure, as well as a few tweaks over previous editions. Called the Universal Foldable Keyboard, this is their officially improved take on the famous Universal Mobile Keyboard. The latter makes use of Bluetooth connectivity to link to Windows, Android, and iOS devices.
What companies are trying to come up with, are keyboards that are compatible with not only different devices running the same OS, but also with different platforms. Since there is a huge pool of users running Windows OS, Android, and iOS on their devices, what is needed is a commonly compatible input option, which works with every major OS setup. This is one of the topics that will never grow old on Windows Live support forums.
Windows Compatible Keyboard
The Foldable Keyboard, meanwhile has the same comprehensive connectivity, uses Bluetooth to link to the computing device, and can switch between devices when there is more than one being used at the time. The foldability, of course, makes this the crème de crème. When you open it up, its 11.61″ wide and 4.9″ tall, which is a bit larger than the older iteration. But fold it and you can size it down to less than the space the Mobile Keyboard takes up.
That one simply had a foldable cover for the keyboard, while this closes like a book. And the keys are water repellent too. You find discussions about the many things this will let you do, on Windows Live support forums online.
One thing this model does not have is a stand to fit the tablet device on to. The battery life is said to last at least three months on a single charge (via a micro-USB port), although this is less than the six months duration that boasted. The Universal Foldable Keyboard sells for $99.95, though this is high, considering the paltry battery backup.

Leave a replyWindows Operating Systems
We all know that Windows 8 operating system was a big flop. The operating system had many flaws like the absence of a few features, difficulties in accessing some features etc. that made the operating system a failure. So, is the operating system really a big flop? According to experts, it is not as big a failure as Windows Vista operating system that was released before Windows 7.
According to Windows live support, one of the major points to keep in mind is that Windows 8 operating system works well only with touch screen devices. However, majority of the users who had a bitter experience with the operating system were working on the traditional PCs, which do not have touch screen capabilities. That means, if you use mouse and keyboard to input things to the PC, you may not fall in love with this operating system. However, those users who use touch screen devices along with this operating system say that they do not wish to switch back to any of the traditional operating systems.
With the touch screen interface being the major attraction of the operating system, you need to harness it to fully understand and experience the features of the operating system. Many experts are also of this view. There are many supporters for the operating system. Jim Wong, the president of Acer, has a similar opinion. He says, “Personally, I have found the touchscreen to be a welcome addition to personal computers and I”ve often find myself wishing I could touch my MacBook Air”s screen to flip through photo galleries and play iOS-style touchscreen games.” The new OS provides all these functionalities to the users.
Windows OS Upgrade
Therefore, with all the features of Windows 8 operating system, it cannot be even compared to the Windows Vista operating system. Keep in mind that Windows Vista is considered as the worst operating system from Microsoft. After the release of Windows 8, many people were comparing Windows 8 to Windows Vista. Now, Microsoft released Windows 7 to rectify the faults with Windows Vista. Similarly, Microsoft has come up with Windows 8.1, with many changes and additions to the program. With the introduction of an updated OS, Microsoft has been successful in addressing some major issues with the program. This includes the ability to boot to any interface the user wants and the addition of the Start button etc.

Leave a replyWindows Live Help
The Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition staff have recently made it clear that the game and gaming company is officially taking itself away from Games For Windows Live (GFWL). Because of this, the company is taking various things such as save games, achievements and multiplayer features from the nearly forgotten DRM service and moving them to a newer service. Soon the transition will be made for users to move over their save games and achievements from Games For Windows Live (GFWL) to Steam.
For those who are not aware, Windows Live support desk would like to remind that Games For Windows Live, was originally supposed to close down this year on July 1st, as per the announcement made last year concerning other services shutting down, which included the popular Age of Empires Online and the Games For Windows Marketplace.
Users, most of them, were actually hoping that the online gaming service Games For Windows Live would stop since it can only be described as a utter bane to the gaming community after supporting for it looked really scarce and parse. Actually, when the news spread that Games For Windows Live was shutting down, the only thing users could hear was silence.
Windows Support
Not until the 1st of July did the software giant found it necessary to state that they would not be totally removing Games For Windows Live from the list of existing Microsoft services. Many gamers and users feared that the titles did not convert from Games For Windows Live to Steamworks would be lost to the long forgotten DRM service”s blackhole when the plug is finally pulled on GFWL. However, fortunately, the software maker decided to keep up the servers for games that still need authentication.
Now, the July 1st shutdown notice triggered a lot of gaming communities for stepping up and petition developers for moving over their games from Games For Windows Live to Steamworks. The community just did not trust the Redmond based software manufacturer for their online service. Windows Live support desk points out that one of the popular games most requested for the leap was Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (PTDE).
Most users would agree that there is no real advantage with having Games For Windows Live (GFWL) as a middle-man anymore. Even logically and practically, it just does not add any kind of functional service or real advantage to the end-users/gamers.

Leave a reply Windows Live To Steamworks
There was a time when Games for Windows Live was a good choice for gaming service, for many publishers. Over time, things have taken a turn, and while the PC branch of their Live service might have been appreciated and even preferred in the past, neither is the case anymore. The company hasn”t done much more than stack Xbox on Windows Live, and that is a far cry from being enough.
How does ditching Games for Windows Live help non-Microsoft games? Well, for one, there are alternate services like Steamworks. This has a better distribution system, and offers much more advanced community interaction capabilities. It does about everything else you can think of, which is why it hasn”t started festering the way G4WL has. There”s no surprise at titles like DiRT 3 abandoning the scene. Everybody”s removing Games for Windows Live support, because there”s little sense in keeping this.
The latest Dark Souls is another title that”s leaving, and the mass migrations have already gotten underway. You can take all your saved data and achievements, so no part of all those gaming hours will have been a waste. Bandai Namco says this option will be available till February 16th, and after that Steam will be the default service for playing on. The G4WL integration is actually getting in the way of this, which is why many titles are removing that first.
G4WL Support
FromSoftware has announced that the process will allow all users to move their save games from Dark Souls: Prepare to Die. They”re saying there will need to be some more testing done, to ensure that everything goes smoothly. If this works right, the user will have a free Steam copy of the game with the G4WL token, and the latter will be valid for the duration of the allowed migration slot. Past that point, you can still get a Steam pass, but you can kiss your G4WL save games goodbye. There have been no details given as yet about how long this migration period will last.
Stay updated on the migration process of Dark Souls to the Steam service, as well as other titles that are looking to make the change. Need Games for Windows Live help, or looking for new stories on gaming titles? Check out the latest posts and find the emerging stories in the gaming scene.

Leave a reply Windows Support Desk
Microsoft has admitted that some of the Windows operating systems are vulnerable to major attacks. A special team from Microsoft that is investigating security issues across the company”s operating systems said that attackers were targeting vulnerable PC”s of the customers by enabling remote execution of certain codes. This remote execution takes place when a user opens a malicious file sent to him by the attacker. The file looks legitimate, exactly like a Microsoft Office file but has OLE objects in it, which is crafted by the attackers.
Targeted Windows versions
According to reports from the Windows Live support desk, all supported Windows versions, which include Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, are vulnerable to this attack. A recent report shows that certain Windows Server operating systems are also targeted by the attackers. This includes Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012. Windows RT is also listed as one of the targeted OS versions.
The report says that users face the threat more severely when they try to update their OS versions, as attackers are able to facilitate remote execution of the codes during the update time. In that case, Windows XP is safer as it no longer gets updates from Microsoft. However, Microsoft warns that attackers can execute the codes more easily over XP operating systems as it is extremely vulnerable and has very outdated security settings.
About OLE
Support For Windows Operating Systems
According to Windows Live support team, attackers penetrate into a user”s PC through OLE and enable remote execution of the codes. OLE stands for Object Linking and Embedding. According to the Microsoft team, the attackers have managed to manipulate the advanced security settings of the office files and integrate the malicious OLEs. Once a user opens an OLE integrated file disguised as a legitimate MS Office file, the OLE in it will be activated. Consequently, customers” important data becomes accessible to the file. The core purpose of Object Linking and Embedding technology is to enable data sharing among applications.
Microsoft said that the vulnerability is under control now. The software giant has instructed the specially trained team to look into the security issues across all Windows operating systems. As Word and PowerPoint are listed among the most targeted applications, the software giant has instructed users to be carefully while handling any Word or PowerPoint files. If the sender of a Word or PowerPoint file is unknown, it is highly recommended not to open the file.

Leave a reply Windows Support
As you know very well by now, From Software aren”t the kind popular for lobbing out lifebelts, but it seems that has changed now. They are offering the best they can for the owners of “Dark Souls: Prepare to Die” edition. The game developers have recently made it really possible for gamers to move their copy of the game, including the saves and achievements, from Microsoft”s uncertain and infamous Games for Windows Live platform (GFWL) to the famous Steam platform. GFWL was never popular; the Windows live support forums are flooded with complaints concerning the gaming service.
This will happen very soon and GFWL users can be happy about the fact that they will be able to transfer various Dark Souls characters, progress and achievements to their current Steam accounts. The only disappointing thing can be that GFWL rankings will not be transferred. The specific migration dates and additional information on the migration and transfer will soon be shared with users.
Games for Windows Live players need to redeem GFWL tokens on Steam for getting the Dark Souls for free. The users will see a guide for locating keys, which is outlined on the support page. The players can use the tokens even after the migration period ends, but it may happen that the game save data and achievements transfers will not be possible; that”s a bummer.
In this Windows live support article, we would like to remind you that the announcement of the migration follows Bandai Namco”s promise in the month of May that it was looking into various other services in order to keep the Dark Souls game alive. This was a few months before the service was due to be shut down. You might be aware of the rumor that the GFWL service would stop on July 1, 2014. This announcement first came up on the Age of Empires Online blog many months ago.
Tech Support
Many developers and publishers then started offering migration options for their games. For instance, Batman: Arkham Origins, offered migration option from GFWL to different platforms. The Redmond based software maker had issued a statement a few months ago denying that it was shutting down the service and as the software company says, they are “committed to investing in PC gaming.”
The Dark Souls game initially launched on Windows powered PCs two years ago. What”s really not clear is that why Bandai Namco previously insisted that Dark Souls would remain “functional” on GFWL for the “foreseeable future”? What has really changed here, and why exactly, nobody knows.
Overall, it”s good news for Dark Souls” players. Enjoy the game in Steam.

The video game developing firm, Capcom, is modifying some of the best Windows PC games like Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record and Resident Evil 5. According to Windows live support, the games are being modified for the Valve”s Steamworks. The announcement was made in a blog post by Capcom Unity.
According to Capcom, the firm is moving the games to Steamworks platform due to the rising popularity of the platform. The company says that with this move, more fans from across the world will be able to play these games. The move is expected to happen by the beginning of next year.
Earlier this year, Capcom had moved the game Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition to Steamworks. It was well received all over the world. The latest release of the game, Ultra Street Fighter 4, which was launched on PC, was moved to Steamworks support. However, it is interesting to note that some of the Capcom published games like Lost Planet 2, Street Fighter X Tekken etc. are still based on Games for Windows Live technology.
Majority of the developers are moving their games from the Windows Live platform as the software giant has announced that it would be soon shutting down the Windows Live Marketplace for games. This means that the online gaming service could see an end any time soon. However, Microsoft has made it clear that it would still be providing support for these games.
Windows Gaming Services
A statement released by the company says, “Although customers are unable to purchase new games from the marketplace or receive title updates, they can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading them through the Games for Windows Live client as usual.” The statement further reads, “We remain committed to investing in PC gaming in the years ahead, and look forward to sharing more in the future.”
Games for Windows Live were launched seven years back. With the service, Windows PCs can connect with Microsoft Live service. Each user will be provided a Gamertag and users will be able to play the games online, view the status of friends etc. Microsoft made the service available to third party developers right from the launch of the service.
However, with the new decision from Microsoft, we might soon see more developers moving out of the platform. For further information on this news, you may contact Windows Live Support and avail assistance.
